Santiago del Estero stands in the middle of an extensive but largely semi-arid agricultural region. Originally a forest area, their forests were exhausted by timber industries of British capital during the 19th century. The Rio Dulce is the water source for the abundant agriculture in the area, and provides lots of wetlands in the province, allowing excellent duck hunting along the Dulce and its tributaries. This province allows the most generous duck limits in Argentina and boasts huge numbers of pigeons.
El Picazo is located one province north of Corboda in Santiago del Estero and there are several options to transfer to this area. There are daily flights from Buenos Aires as well, charter flights from Cordoba, or you if would like a scenic country drive it’s only a 3 ½ hour transfer by land from Cordoba.
